Fabletics

Hey everyone – wanted to tell you about an awesome deal I discovered a few weeks back, that, tried and true, is really cool and totally worth $25 if you are in the market for some nice gym clothes.

Fabletics

Fabletics [happybeinghealthy.com]

Fabletics is an online subscription for women’s gymwear and accessories. It was founded by Kate Hudson a couple of years ago, but has recently taken off considerably in terms of popularity.

Here’s how it works:

First, you take a quick lifestyle quiz – it asks you about your preferences, what kind of exercise you do most often, and where you do it. After this, Fabletics shows you some outfits you’d be interested in. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I was interested in each and every single one of them – they’re trendy, cute, and perfect for all body types. I indicated that I mostly exercised in a gym setting (some light weights, spin classes, yoga, etc.) and all of my options were so fun! Bright colors, comfy shirts, some great sports bras, headbands, etc.

At this point, you can opt to choose their VIP membership program. What this means is that each month, Fabletics sends you their latest deals and outfit combos – these start around $50 (which, for me, is a little expensive for a gym outfit that I can get at Target for half the price). Each month, you have the option (and you have until the 5th of the month) to skip this month – you can skip as many months as you want, so long as you remember! You can also cancel your VIP Membership at any time by calling their member services team. With the VIP Membership, your first Fabletics outfit is only $25. $25!

I was so excited about $25 for such fun outfits that I was hooked. Within days, Fabletics sent me a great simple black absorbent tank, really cute black and pink leggings, and a matching headband – for the couple of weeks I’ve owned these products, they have been staples in my gym outfit regimen! They are awesome quality, certainly won’t fall apart, and very flattering – highly recommended! Take a look at this month’s offerings here:

That being said, I can’t recommend checking them out, and at least paying the $25 for an adorable outfit – and if you aren’t feeling it – just skip or cancel! I haven’t bought another outfit since, but I look every month and I am still a VIP member just in case I fall in love with another outfit or feel like I deserve something nice in the future.

Enjoy!

FREE Aveda Invati™ Sample!

Hey readers!

This one is suuuuper legit! I love, love, love getting my hair done at Aveda salons – it’s a guilty pleasure of mine, and I rarely feel guilty about it – their lower tiered hairdressers are always a GREAT deal (pro tip: never stay for the hair dry! Hair dressers often charge more for a dry and styling, but never tell you that!).

My favorite part about Aveda salons are their incredible products – the smell of them are so great and earthy and heavenly. I can’t get enough of them! I don’t generally buy them for myself, since they’re a little pricey.

That being said, they are giving out a FREE 3-step system sample pack for thinning hair: Invati exfoliating shampoo cleanses and renews the scalp, invati™ thickening conditioner weightlessly thickens hair from within, and invati™ scalp revitalizer helps you keep the hair you have longer.

Aveda says that this formula reduces hair loss due to breakage in a 12-week clinical test of the Invati™ system. Not too shabby – who doesn’t want more volume?

Not only are they giving out these FREE samples, but they are also giving out FREE services as well at participating locations!

Here’s how to get your sample:

The Honest Company: Sunscreen Saga

You all may have read my blog post on The Honest Company a few weeks back where I lauded Jessica Alba and her team for finding organic, safe, and healthy solutions to common household and beauty products.

I was both shocked and appalled to hear of the latest social media slam on The Honest Company in the past week or so of their sunscreen. Time.com posted an article today highlighting the social media trend of posting your sunburn from using The Honest Company’s 30 SPF suncreen. Some of these photos are staggering, painful, and tough to look at.

Ouch! The Honest Company defended their product to the Today Show: “the number of complaints received on our own website about our Sunscreen Lotion constitute less than one half of one percent of all units actually sold at Honest.com. We stand behind the safety and efficacy of this product.”

NBC Chicago did some digging and found that the company cut the amount of zinc oxide (the active ingredient in sunscreen that MAKES IT sunscreen) from 20% (normal) to 9.3% (well below average for sunscreen) and attributes this drop in the ingredient to the complaints and lack of protection that the product provides.

Looks like The Honest Company is on the defense for now, but I’m wondering if they’ll be ‘fixing’ their product or making any more public statements. It’s clearly become an issue for users and supporters, as well as their overall brand.

Have any of you guys tried this sunscreen? What do you think about all this?

FREE Sample – Palmer’s Cocoa Butter

You’ve probably seen this around the stores and breezed past it. Breeze past no more, this stuff is legit.

I’ve been absolutely addicted to their Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick since college, and since, have been experimenting with a lot of their other products, and they are all up to snuff.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula was introduced to the Australian market in 1997 – the company is now worldwide and committed to continually creating affordable skincare products that WORK. They emphasize cocoa butter, shea butter, olive butter, and coconut oil. They’re entirely cruelty free.

Check them out now by simply filling out a form here.

Get Clean for FREE with Dove

Personally, I’m not the kind of person who is brand consistent when it comes to showering or bathroom products. I am more of the kind of person who finds whatever is cheap on a shelf, smells it, and if it passes the sniff test – tosses it in the cart. The Dove campaign has been so heavily advertised on television lately that I was driven to check it out.

Dove has launched a campaign called the One Shower Challenge – they say to take one shower with Dove products and you’re guaranteed softer, smoother skin. “Join the 530k+ people participating in the #oneshowerchallenge NOW!”

Dove invited women to a makeover with a difference. Check it out here:

I’ll search anything with a hashtag. I took a cruise around Twitter and saw that people really were happy! Tried to protect some privacy here – don’t mind the strike-throughs. I’ll be checking this out to see how legit this product is – Dove generally never disappoints for me. Might as well check out their free sample below and take the challenge yourself too!
